Bicyclist, 35, Critically Injured In Lakewood Hit-And-Run: Prosecutors A woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Lakewood, authorities said. The 35-year-old bicyclist was struck by a vehicle, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Lakewood police responded to the crash at the intersection of Maplehurst Avenue and Cross Street at around 7:15 p.m. Officers found the victim in the road suffering from serious bodily injuries.  Paramedics rushed the woman to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Gas Main Break Shuts River Road/Route 9 In Lakewood A gas main break closed a stretch of River Avenue/Route 9 early Tuesday, Oct. 22 in Lakewood. The NJDOT site shows it happened around 3:35 a.m. at Yale Drive. As of 7 a.m., all lanes were closed from Cross Street to James Street due to emergency construction.

Around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, Lakewood Police Officer Daniel DeBartolomeis responded to the area of Cross Street and Massachusetts Avenue to meet with the victim of a reported road rage incident. Jorge Euxaque-Ballesteros has been charged with aggravated arson and burglary following the fire on Cross Street in Lakewood around 2 a.m., Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
