A 25-year-old state corrections officer from South Jersey smuggled contraband into the Atlantic County Justice Facility, authorities said. Luis A. Mercado of Galloway Township was charged with second-degree official misconduct after a joint investigation with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents and the jail facility in Mays Landing, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. A 69 year-old man has been charged with fatally shooting an Atlantic City neighbor during a dispute, authorities said. Atlantic City police received a 9-1-1 call at 11:24 a.m. on Saturday about a woman suffering a gunshot wound at 1507 Belfield Ave., Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said. A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with last week's fatal shooting in an Atlantic City hotel, authorities said. Wayne Brown, 25, of Atlantic City was found dead of a gunshot wound on the 11th floor of the 24-floor Madison Hotel on Wednesday, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said. Keshawn T. Faulkner, of Atlantic City has been charged with Brown's murder as well as robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm, Tyner said on Sunday. Atlantic City Man, 29, Fatally Shot In South Jersey
A 29-year-old man from Atlantic City man was found shot to death Saturday morning, authorities said. Police were called to the corner of Essex and Kingsley avenues in Egg Harbor Township for a report of a man down about 6:25 a.m, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. Authorities in Newark are seeking a man who escaped police custody while being treated for an injury at University Hospital Sunday. Robert E.
