Toms River Driver, 84, Suffers 'Medical Emergency,' Knocks Down Utility Pole: Police An elderly Toms River man was hospitalized after crashing into a utility pole in Ocean County, authorities said. The 84-year-old man was driving at the intersection of Route 70 and Center Street at around 12:16 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, the Lakehurst Police Department said in a news release. He suffered a "medical emergency" and lost control of his vehicle, knocking down a utility pole. Paramedics brought the man to Community Medical Center for treatment. 13 Injured In Manchester Township Crash Thirteen people were injured, including 11 students on their way to school, after a luxury car and a van crashed in Ocean County, authorities said. Manchester Township police responded to the crash at the intersection of county routes 571 and 547 at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 16, the department said in a news release. Officers found a white 2020 Acura TLX and a black 2023 Ford Transit Passenger Van with damage on the property of nearby Ridgeway Plaza Wines & Liquor. Serious Crash Reported In Central Jersey First responders were called on a report of a single-car crash in Monmouth County, authorities said.  The crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. on County Route 547 at Allaire Road in Howell Township, initial reports said. An unconfirmed report said that CPR was in progress on one of the crash victims.The condition of the crash victim was not immediately available,  A second unconfirmed report said a crash victim was administered NARCAN by police, a drug typically used to counteract drug overdoses.
