Lakewood police are investigating an assault, authorities said. "I can confirm that we are actively investigating an aggravated assault that occurred just a short time ago at a location on River Avenue," said Capt. Skull Fracture Among Injuries Suffered In Lakewood Carnival Accident
Three people were hospitalized, including one with a possible skull fracture, after an accident at a Lakewood carnival Monday, April 9, authorities said. Two other people sustained less serious injuries at the event, according to Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith, a Lakewood Police Department spokesman. The accident happened at a private event on Summer Avenue. According to abc7, an inflatable bounce house blew over. A pregnant woman suffered abdominal pain and two other adults suffered head injuries, the outlet said citing police. No other details were immediately available.

9-Year-Old Boy Struck By School Bus In Lakewood, Recovering At Hospital
A 9-year-old boy was struck by a school bus and hospitalized Thursday, March 9, in Lakewood, authorities said. The child had just gotten off the bus about 6:15 p.m. and was crossing in front of the bus when he was struck, Lakewood police said. The incident occurred at Pawnee Road and Iroquois Place. “The driver was unaware that he struck the child and left the scene. He immediately returned once he was notified of the accident and is cooperating with authorities,” Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith said in a statement.
