Good Samaritan Rescues Teens From Burning Car In South Jersey (Photos) A mother from Atlantic County says a Good Samaritan rescued her son, Zahir Davis, and his teenage friend from a burning car. In a post on Facebook, Aseealah Davis said a woman named Jackie stopped by the flaming car in Mays Landing on the way home from work.  The incident happened on Tuesday night, May 17. The unidentified Good Samaritan is believed to be from Buena. "We would like to do something for Jackie,'' Davis wrote, asking for help identifying the hero.

'America's Most Wanted' Fugitive In 1994 Killing Extradited To Atlantic County: Sheriff A dangerous fugitive wanted in a South Jersey killing for nearly three decades has been extradited back to Atlantic County from Mexico, authorities said.  Francisco Martinez was once featured on "America's Most Wanted" television series. He was considered one of New Jersey’s most wanted criminals. Martinez, now 52, was arrested in October 2021, after lead Detective Anthony Branca was able to find him in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler said.
