Beloved Jersey Shore native and marine academy graduate Molly J. Lada died in Santa Barbara, California, on Thursday, Oct. 27. She was 19.
Born in Brick Township, Molly grew up in Point Pleasant, her obituary says.
Described as an “incredibly kind and strong” member of the community, more than $26,300 had been raised on a GoFundMe launched for her funeral expenses before donations had been shut off.

Pair Arrested With Pills, Drug Paraphernalia On Jersey Shore
Police said they made two arrests on drug charges in Brick Township.
On Thursday, Oct. 20, at 8:30 p.m., SCU Detectives observed a woman later identified as Tracey Martin, 38, of Brick loitering and asking people for drugs, police said.
The ensuing investigation led to the discovery of stolen medications, drug paraphernalia and other prescription medications, police said.
