Edison Siblings Champion Sports For Kids With Special Needs Through 'Buddy Ball'
Aidan and Catelyn Yam are proving that it doesn’t take a big team to make a big difference. The high school siblings from Edison have become champions of Buddy Ball, a non-profit organization offering children with special needs the chance to play sports in a welcoming and supportive environment. Central Jersey Bowling Center Shutters Permanently
A Central Jersey bowling center plans to close permanently later this month. Woodbridge Bowling Center has been in business for more than 40 years. The center, at 346 Main St. in Woodbridge, announced it will close on Sunday, May 21. Edison HS Teacher, Coach Dies At 43
A longtime teacher and coach at JP Stevens High School in Edison has died at the age of 43. Anthony Patrick White died on Monday, Oct. 17 at his home. Born in New Brunswick, he was a lifelong Edison resident. He was a 1997 graduate of Edison High School and a 2002 graduate of Seton Hall University. White was a social studies teacher at JP Stevens High School in Edison for the last 20 years. He was the head volleyball coach for the boys and girls volleyball teams as well as the assistant coach for the boys and girls bowling teams. North Jersey native Buddy Valestro was hospitalized in a bowling accident that severely injured his hand. The "Cake Boss" tweeted a photo of himself and his "new accessory" -- his heavily bandaged right hand. Valestro -- born in Hoboken and raised in Little Ferry -- reportedly hurt himself after the bowling pinsetter in his family's home alley malfunctioned Sunday, TMZ reports.
