76-Year-Old Fatally Injured While Cutting Tree In Monroe County: Officials A Somerset, New Jersey man was fatally struck by a falling tree branch in Middle Smithfield, according to authorities.  David M. Feingold, 76, was cutting a tree on June 29 when a large branch fell and hit him, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. The accident happened on the 200 block of Melvin Lane, officials said.  Feingold was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest where he died from complications of blunt-force trauma to the head on Sunday, July 14, the Coroner's Office said. His death was ruled accidental.

A volunteer responded to document the 13-foot-2 whale, which was "in moderately decomposed condition." Humpback Whale Found Along Jersey Shore Died From Blunt Force Trauma, Autopsy Shows The first whale found dead along the Jersey Shore in 2024 was killed by blunt force trauma, according to a marine animal rehabilitation center. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center (MMSC) released the humpback whale's autopsy findings in a Facebook post on Friday, Apr. 12. The whale was found in the surf near 51st Street in Long Beach at around 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 11. MMSC said the whale was a one-year-old male that was 24 feet 10 inches long.
