Memorial Services Set For Ex-South Jersey Football Star Killed In Christmas Eve Crash
A 28-year-old Pleasantville man who died from injuries five days after a Christmas Eve crash will be remembered during memorial services on Thursday. Donta Pollock was a star running back for Holy Spirit High School. He was remembered by his alma mater as “one of the best to ever wear the gold helmet," according to an Instagram post. Pollock was driving west on the Atlantic City Expressway in Pleasantville on Christmas Eve when he lost control at about 2:30 a.m., left the roadway and struck a guard rail. Atlantic City Teenager Wounded By Gunfire
A 17-year-old boy from Atlantic City was wounded in a shooting, authorities said. Atlantic City police were called to the 100 north block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 1:53 a.m. on Wednesday by a ShotSpotter audio gunshot detection alert, the department announced on Facebook. Police found a teenager with gunshot wounds. The shooting victim was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said. Lawnmower Rolls On Top Of Worker Cutting Grass On Garden State Parkway In Burlington County
A worker cutting grass along the Garden State Parkway was flown to the hospital after a lawnmower rolled down an embankment and landed on top of him in Burlington County Monday morning, authorities said. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority worker lost control of the commercial-grade lawnmower he was riding near milepost 55.9 around 8:40 a.m. in Bass River, State Police said. He was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus in Atlantic City, a NJSP spokesperson said. The incident remains under investigation.
