South Jersey Man Admits Killing Atlantic City Woman, 56: Prosecutor
A 58-year-old man from Pleasantville has admitted to killing a woman in Atlantic City in 2018, authorities said. Mark Huff, 58, pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter for the homicide of 56-year-old Vernell K. Vance, according to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill. The State will recommend Huff be sentenced to 25 years in New Jersey State Prison when he is sentenced on Feb. 10, Shill said. Huff was arrested in Pleasantville on April 16, 2018. South Jersey Man Killed, Teenagers Wounded In Shooting
A 26-year-old man from Atlantic County was shot dead, and two teenagers were wounded, in a shooting, authorities said. On Thursday at 2:57 p.m., 9-1-1 calls were received at the Pleasantville Police Department reporting that victims had been shot on the 100 block of Linden Avenue, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner. Pleasantville police officers foumd Maurice Hampton, also known as Abdul Hamid shot and killed, Tyner said. An autopsy was being performed on Friday. Atlantic City Shopkeeper, 66, Dies During Armed Robbery By 12-Year-Old Boy
A 66-year-old businessman from Atlantic City collapsed and died when his store was robbed at knifepoint, authorities said. Mahmood Ansari was robbed at his store by two youths on Thursday night, according to Atlantic City Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner. At 7:41 p.m., Atlantic City police responded to a business in the 1500 block of the Boardwalk in reference to a boy with a knife. : Police ID 18-Year-Old Father Fatally Shot In Pleasantville
Updated: An 18-year-old father was shot and killed late Tuesday night in Atlantic County, authorities said. The victim was identified as Byron Jones of Pleasantville, the father of daughter who is about to turn 1-year-old. Jones died of multiple gunshot wounds, police said. The fatal shooting occurred about 11 p.m. in the 300 block of Edgeley Avenue near Ansley Boulevard in Pleasantville. Prosecutor: Philadelphia Man Admits Bludgeoning His Brother Dead At Atlantic City Hotel-Casino
A 39 year-old man from Philadelphia has admitted to bludgeoning his younger brother to death last year at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, authorities said. John A. Villante pleaded guilty on Thursday in an open plea to first-degree aggravated manslaughter, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said. Villante faces 10 to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 26 before Presiding Superior Court Judge Bernard E. DeLury.
