ABC7 reports that one of the officers was killed while the other was left critical.  A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office only confirmed that two officers were shot just after 6:35 p.m. near Broadway and Carteret, and that one was critical — declining to provide details on the other's condition.
