Fourteen suspects have been arrested in 12 Newark committed from Saturday, June 1 through Monday, Sept. 30, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. On Tuesday, June 4, Ty'Shon Young, a 27-year-old Newark resident was killed in a double shooting on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue, authorities said. Victim ID'd In Fatal Newark Shooting In Park: Prosecutor A 25-year-old Newark resident has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting on Thursday June 13, authorities said. At 9 p.m., Newark police responded to Boys Park at Sussex Avenue and Duryea Street and located Raymeer Tarver suffering from gunshot wounds near a basketball court in the park, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said.  Tarver was taken to University Hospital and pronounced dead soon after, Stephens and Frage said. The investigation is active and ongoing, Stephens and Frage said.

Man Killed In Newark, Cops Say A man was shot and killed in Newark on the evening of Thursday, June 13, authorities said. The shooting occurred at Sussex Avenue and Duryea Street, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The shooting remains under investigation, authorities said.
