The body of a 31-year-old man was pulled from a vehicle that had plunged into the Delaware Raritan Canal over the weekend, police said. Police were called to Canal and Grouser roads on Saturday, Aug. 24 around 12:25 p.m. after a kayaker saw a 2024 Honda Civic in the river, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald said. The body of the sole occupant, a 31-year-old Skillman man, was pulled from the vehicle, which was removed from the water by Mike's Towing and Recovery, McDonald said. An 18-year-old man has died nearly a week after the Tesla he was riding in was involved in a crash, police in South Jersey said. Daniel "Danny" Hass, a student at Notre Dame High School in Lawrence Township, died Saturday, Aug. 24, his family said in a post on social media. A Monroe Township man was killed when he got out of his car and was hit by a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. Michael Veisz, 40, died in the crash on Interstate 95 North in East Brunswick on Friday, Aug. 23, a state police spokesperson said. NJ Firefighter Severely Injured In Crash Day Before Father's Greek Burial
Support is on the rise for a New Jersey firefighter who was severely injured in a car crash the night before he was set his father's burial in Greece. Anthony Zougras, a Martinsville firefighter, was in the crash on Wednesday, Aug. 7, according to a GoFundMe set up to support his medical expenses. Zougras' father, Dionysios, had died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 21 and it was his wish to be buried in his hometown of Zakynthos, Greece, according to the fundraiser. A Plainfield man was killed in a crash on Interstate 287 in Piscataway, authorities said. David Wynn, 68, died in the wreck on I-287 South on Thursday, Aug. 15, a state police spokesperson said. Troopers responded to the crash near milepost 8.8 at around 8:24 p.m. Investigators said Wynn was driving a Chevrolet vehicle when he crashed into the back of a trailer hauled by a Chevrolet pickup. Vehicle Crashes Into Pole After Driver Suffers Medical Emergency: Newark PD
A man was hospitalized after he experienced a medical emergency while driving and crashed into a pole in Newark on the morning of Thursday, Aug. 8, authorities said. At 11:10 a.m., police responded to a vehicle colliding with a pole at Lyons Avenue and Hobson Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The man driving the vehicle had a medical emergency and he was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation, Fragé said. No other injuries have been reported and the crash remains under investigation, Fragé said.

A 22-year-old Newark driver was killed in a crash on Route 280 in Harrison early Saturday morning, July 27, New Jersey State Police said. According to NJSP Sgt.
