Fourteen suspects have been arrested in 12 Newark committed from Saturday, June 1 through Monday, Sept. 30, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. On Tuesday, June 4, Ty'Shon Young, a 27-year-old Newark resident was killed in a double shooting on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue, authorities said. An investigation by detectives from the Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force led to the arrest of Timothy Young, 34, for the murder, authorities said.…

Bloomfield Woman, 26, Shot Dead In Newark Supermarket: Prosecutor A 26-year-old Bloomfield woman was shot and killed in a Newark supermarket on Wednesday, Sept. 18, authorities said. Nakiyyah Blue was found unresponsive having suffered gunshot wounds in the store on the 300 block of South 7th Street around 8:45 p.m., Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. First responders rendered aid, but Blue was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:57 p.m.  Sidi Supermarket appears to be the only grocery store on the block where Blue was killed.
