Two Netcong Families Lose Home In Two-Alarm Fire: Fundraiser
A two-alarm fire in Netcong left two families homeless on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 7, authorities and a fundraiser set up to support the families said. At 7 p.m., Firefighters responded to the blaze on Dell Avenue, the Netcong Fire Department said. Fire officials could see the flames while traveling on Route 183 and upgraded the fire to a second alarm, firefighters said. Crews dealt with strong winds and freezing cold temperatures as they worked to extinguish the blaze, firefighters said. The victim of a recent murder that rattled a small New Jersey town has been identified in various social media posts and by a campaign launched for her family as a 21-year-old animal lover. The mugshot of a 34-year-old murder suspect arrested in a New Jersey shooting that rattled a small town has been released. Anthony Garvin, of Netcong, was charged with murder and possession of a firearm and lodged in the Berks County Jail in Leesport, PA, a spokesperson for the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said following the Thursday, June 28 incident.
