A pedestrian was hit by an SUV and killed near a shopping plaza in Egg Harbor Township, authorities said. Leon Barrett, 78, of Pleasantville, died in the crash on Wednesday, June 19, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said in a news release. A 46-year-old pedestrian trying to cross an exit ramp off the Garden State Parkway was killed by passing cars over the weekend. Mohammed Uddin was crossing the Exit 123 ramp in Sayreville around 9:45 p.m. Friday, May 31, when he was struck by a Dodge SUV and Buick SUV, heading south near milepost 124.6, New Jersey State Police Sgt.
