1,300+ Without Power In Ocean County As 62 MPH Winds Slam Shore: JCP&L
Nearly 5,000 New Jersey customers remained without power Monday afternoon, Oct. 13, as a powerful coastal storm continued to lash the state with damaging winds and coastal flooding, according to Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L).
As of 1:30 p.m., JCP&L reported 4,823 outages statewide, including 1,342 in Ocean County, 1,104 in Morris County, 783 in Monmouth County, 685 in Sussex County, 522 in Hunterdon County, and 355 in Warren County.

Just one day after a fast-moving storm swept through New Jersey, causing dramatic rescues, a home explosion, and multiple deaths, officials have issued both a Flood Watch and Heat Advisory for the region.
The Flood Watch, issued by the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, warns that flash flooding is possible in seven New Jersey counties from Wednesday afternoon, July 16, through late Wednesday night.

A young executive for on-demand food delivery service DoorDash and his mother and father were among eight people killed when a boat with 10 onboard capsized in Lake Tahoe, on the border between California and Nevada.
The other boaters who died were all friends of the exec, Josh Pickles, including his 72-year-old uncle, Peter Bayes, according to San Francisco's KTVU, which reported the group was celebrating the birthday of Pickles' mother, Paula Bozinovich, who turned 71. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for 14 counties in New Jersey, with storms expected to bring wind gusts up to 60 MPH, the National Weather Service said on Saturday, May 3.
