A video showing the arrest of a 28-year-old surfer from California in New Jersey apparently over failure to possess a beach badge is under review, authorities said. Video taken Tuesday, Aug. 20, and shared to Facebook by Austin Downs, shows officers arresting Liam Mahoney of Junction City, CA, in Belmar. Mahoney and a female friend can be heard arguing over a beach badge with officers, who restrain him. At one point, Mahoney appears to try to swat one of the officers away, and a struggle ensues. Ocean County Performing Arts HS Teacher Molested Female Student, Prosecutors Say
A former teacher at an Ocean County performing arts high school was accused of molesting a female student, authorities said. Douglas Bollinger, 56, of Neptune City, was charged on Monday, Aug. 12 with two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said in a news release. Bollinger was a teacher at the Grunin Performing Arts Academy at Ocean County Vocational Technical School (OCVTS). Man Arrested For Masturbating At Bridgewater Target: Police
A 21-year-old East Orange man was arrested and charged on Thursday, Aug. 8 with masturbating at a Target in Bridgewater earlier this month, police said. On Thursday, Aug. 1 at 7:21 p.m., Jason Banks was seen exposing his genitals and gratifying himself in the toy aisle of the Target on Promenade Boulevard, Bridgewater police said in a release. A week later, police located Banks and arrested him after conducting an interview, officers said. He was charged with lewdness and lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing, police said.

Driving Too Slowly Gets Man Busted For DWI: Sparta PD
A 45-year-old Franklin man was arrested for DWI on the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 11, after he was observed driving 10 miles below the speed limit, authorities said. At 1:48 a.m., officers were patrolling Sparta Avenue when they noticed a vehicle driving southbound failing to maintain a single lane of travel and driving below the speed limit, Sparta police said. The man seen hurling dogs over the fence of the Atlantic County Animal Shelter has been arrested, police said, Jahlil McNeal, 23, of Atlantic City, was identified by city police as the man captured in disturbing footage throwing dogs over the fence at the county animal shelter and leaving. A Camden County man was accused of injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash in Cape May, authorities said. Brandon Rollans, 25, of Blackwood, was arrested on Wednesday, July 31, the Cape May Police Department said in a news release. Four people were arrested after they were accused of having heroin, crack cocaine, and ghost gun parts in an Atlantic City motel room, authorities said. A Brick Township man admitted to having more than 100 grams of cocaine and nearly $20,000 in cash, authorities said.
