Services Set For Woodbridge Officer, SWAT Member Killed In Carteret Crash
Funeral services have been finalized for Michael Tenpenny, the Woodbridge police officer who was killed in a motor vehicle crash in Carteret last week.
Tenpenny, 31, a patrol officer with the Woodbridge Township Police Department, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, following a crash involving a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer in Carteret, authorities confirmed. Additional details about the crash have not been released.

Volunteer Firefighter Michael Yanoschak, Toms River Native, Dies At 36
Toms River Michael Yanoschak died on Saturday, Nov. 15, after battling leukemia, according to his obituary from the Wimberg Funeral Home website. He was 36 years old.
Yanoschak, a volunteer firefighter for the Pleasant Plains Fire Department, was devoted to honoring veterans, police ,and first responders, and opened One Nation Est. 1176 in Smithville, where he lived, his obituary reads.
Yanoschak is survived by his parents Lisa and David, his siblings David and Ana and numerous other family members and friends, according to his obituary.

Maria Bowling, a 26-year-old first-year doctoral candidate at Princeton University died Sunday, Nov. 9, the university announced.
Bowling, an Angola native, was studying history of her country, with a focus on the Angolan borderlands and the history and politics of language and nation-building in southern Africa, the university said.
Fluent in Portuegese,French and English, Bowling earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations and an MA in politics at Sorbonne University in Paris.

Arrangements have been finalized for Emily Prather, a 28-year-old daycare worker remembered for her warmth and compassion, who died following a fire at an apartment complex in South Jersey on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Prather, who was initially hospitalized following the Autumn Ridge blaze in Gloucester Township, was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the fire. Six firefighters were also injured and remain in stable condition, police said.

A 74-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Long Branch, authorities announced Friday, Oct. 31.
At 6:17 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, Long Branch police responded to Route 36 and Branchport Avenue after a man, later identified as Fernando Pinho was attempted to cross Route 36 when he was hit by a BMW SUV, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.
Pinho was rushed to Monmouth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 8:58 p.m., Santiago said. The driver remained on scene, Santiago said.

Thomas Mauch, a 34-year-old Berkeley Heights resident who was reported missing last week, has died, according to a fundraiser established Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Berkeley Heights police said Mauch was located Tuesday, Oct. 7, but did not provide additional details.
