Hoboken-Bound Train Hits Sedan In Bergen County
A Nissan sedan was struck by a New Jersey Transit train Thursday morning, Sept. 19 in Ho-Ho-Kus. Train 1110 on the Main-Bergen County line was briefly delayed following the crash just before 10:15 a.m. at the Hollywood Avenue crossing, which left the sedan severely damaged, according to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving and an NJ Transit spokesperson. MBPJ train #1110, the 11:06 AM arrival into Hoboken, is currently delayed due to striking a motor vehicle near Hohokus. Trespasser Electrocuted On Train Tracks In Newark: NJ Transit
A person trespassing on the train tracks in Newark was electrocuted on the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 12, authorities said. At 3:27 p.m., police responded to the tracks on the Morris and Essex Line near Roseville Avenue and 7th Avenue in Newark on a report of two people trespassing on the tracks, NJ Transit aid. The two were trespassing on an overhead signal structure when one was injured by electricity and fell to the tracks, NJ Transit said. Pedestrian Survives Train Strike In Hudson County: NJ Transit
A pedestrian was truck by a train in Harrison on the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 18, authorities said. At 12:50 a.m., Morris and Essex train 6907 struck the pedestrian just east of Broad Street Station, NJ Transit said. The train had departed New York Penn Station at 12:34 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 2:13 a.m., NJ Transit said. The pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, NJ Transit said. An investigation is ongoing, NJ Transit said.

'Miracle of Morristown:' How Woman Who Lost Leg After Being Struck By Train Saved Her Own Life
Lisa Fitzgerald was two weeks shy of her birthday and commuting to New York when she lost her leg after being struck by train in Morristown on Saturday, May 4. Fitzgerald was on the Morristown platform with the injury when responders arrived at the scene, just before 7:25 p.m., a spokesperson for NJ Transit said. She saved her own life by pulling herself off the train tracks, onto the platform and screaming for help, according to a fundraiser set up to support Fitzgerald. Two Injured After Cars Hit By Falling Poles Struck By Train In Elizabeth: Authorities
Two people were injured after a train hit overhead wires which then struck three cars in Elizabeth on Monday, May 20, authorities said. At 1 p.m., a freight train heading westbound hit overhead wires on Division Street, causing multiple poles to be pulled down, a spokesman for the City of Elizabeth said. Three cars were hit by falling wires and poles and two people suffered minor injuries and were transferred to a nearby hospital, authorities said.
