Justin R. Latorre, of Newark, has been charged with assault by auto by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office after his 2022 Ford Ranger collided with a 2018 Honda HRV in the westbound lanes around 5:10 a.m., Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. Two People Fatally Struck By Truck In Elizabeth IDed: Authorities Two people in their 20s were fatally struck by a truck in Elizabeth on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 19, authorities said. Tatiana Liceth, a 26-year-old Elizabeth resident, and Edisson Mauricio, 24 , were crossing the roadway at Routes 1 and 9 and Maple Avenue, when a tractor trailer that was stopped at the light proceeded forward when the southbound light turned green, a spokeswoman for the city said.  Liceth and Mauricio were fatally struck, while the driver remain on scene, authorities said. The crash remains under investigation, authorities said.

Luis Santiago, 55, of Linden, was operating the commercial truck that clipped an NJ Transit bus carrying 29 passengers in the eastbound lanes Monday morning, July 22, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Thomas Rinaldi said. Santiago's truck then crashed into a barrier near Valley Road and Grove Street, causing the vehicle to erupt in flames.
