New Jersey's first amputee to serve as a K9 police officer got a special call-up to the majors. Officer Michael Braxton Jr. with the Atlantic City Police Department threw out the first pitch at the Philadelphia Phillies game against the Washington Nationals on Saturday, Aug. 17. An Edison man was accused of stabbing another man he knew during a fight, authorities said. Dante Wright, 24, was given several charges including attempted murder, South Brunswick police Chief Raymond Hayducka said in a news release on Sunday, Aug. 4. Officers responded to a report of a fight on James Avenue at around 1:19 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3.
