An online gambler from New Jersey won the largest jackpot in U.S. online casino history, officials said.
A BetMGM Casino player won a $6,450,023 progressive jackpot, the gambling company said in a news release on Wednesday, Aug. 21. The winner won when placing a $200 bet while playing the slot machine game Fruit Blaster, which bases wins on matching symbols like oranges, cherries, lemons, and plums.
The record-setting prize was part of "The Big One," which is BetMGM's pool from its exclusive in-house games.

Three Florida residents are in custody after police said one paid two others to carry out a chemical attack on his ex-girlfriend in New Jersey, who was airlifted to a hospital with serious burns, police said.

Hundreds Without Power In NJ, More Storms Possible Late In The Day
Thousands of New Jersey residents woke up Monday morning, Aug. 19 without power due to Sunday's storm.
And according to the National Weather Service, more stormy weather could be on the way for later in the day.
As of 6:40 a.m., JCP&L was reporting the most outages with the following areas without power: Clinton, 880; Branchville, 150; Hopatcong, 215; Long Branch/Asbury Park, 350; Lakewood, 265.
