DWI Driver Admits To Going 107 MPH In Crash That Killed 8-Year-Old: Atlantic County Prosecutor
A 25-year-old Egg Harbor City man pleaded guilty on Thursday, Feb. 27 to aggravated manslaughter in a crash that killed an 8-year-old boy in Absecon in July 2023, authorities said. On Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 3:25 a.m., Edward Johnston was intoxicated and driving 107 miles per hour on White Horse Pike when his vehicle crashed into the back of a parked vehicle, where Javier Velez, a Philadelphia resident, was sleeping while his father and brother were fishing, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said. Support is on the rise for a 25-year-old Atlantic County man and former US Navy sailor who was left with critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash, which also killed his dog. Syed Hoque and his dog, Duca, were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, Nov. 30, in Absecon, authorities said. The crash occurred shortly after midnight at Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue, where Duca was tragically killed. Police ID Motorcyclist, 59, Killed In Atlantic County Crash
Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in an Atlantic County crash this weekend as a 59-year-old man. Joseph Stetser, of Absecon, was ejected from his 2006 Harley Davidson after hitting a guardrail on East Moss Mill Road near Sander Place around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, June 23 in Galloway, local police said.
