A 32-year-old Piscataway man was arrested and charged after a pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit and run crash in Watchung on Saturday, Aug. 22, authorities said.
At 4:05 a.m., officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on Route 22 and found a 56-year-old Brooklyn man in the roadway, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Meredith McKay, and Watchung Borough Chief of Police Scott Anderle said.

A 29-year-old Somerset man was killed in a crash in Bridgewater Sunday, Aug. 23, authorities said.
At 4:12 p.m., officers responded to Finderne Avenue and Eat Main Street after an Ford F-150, driven by a 68-year-old Somerville man, attempted to make a left turn onto East Main Street and turned directly into the path of the motorcycle, Bridgewater police said.
The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the vehicle, causing the motorcyclist, who was not identified by police, to be ejected, officers said.
