New Supermarket Replaces Shuttered Bergen County Stop & Shop A brand-new supermarket has opened at the former site of Stop & Shop in one Bergen County town. Food Bazaar is now open at the Carlstadt Commons on Paterson Avenue in Carlstadt. The Carlstadt Stop & Shop was one of 32 underperforming stores in New Jersey set to close by year's end. Food Bazaar markets itself as "one of the leading, privately owned, ethnic supermarkets in the northeast," devoting several aisles to both international and mainstream groceries.
