Homicide Roundup: Prosecutor Releases Names Of 14 Accused Killers In Summer NJ Murders
It's been a busy four months for the Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide Task Force. Fourteen suspects have been arrested in 12 Newark committed from Saturday, June 1 through Monday, Sept. 30, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. On Tuesday, June 4, Ty'Shon Young, a 27-year-old Newark resident was killed in a double shooting on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue, authorities said. Woman Assaulted, Spat On NJ Transit Bus By Man: Newark Police
A man spat on a woman and assaulted her on an NJ Transit Bus in Newark on Tuesday, Aug. 27, authorities said. At 1 p.m., the woman and the man engaged in a verbal altercation while on the bus at Broad Street and Branford Place, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. The man spit in the woman's face and a physical altercation ensued with the man punching the woman in the face, Fragé said. Bus Driver, Passenger Arrested After Physical Fight: Newark PD
A bus driver and a passenger were both arrested on Friday, Aug. 16 after they got into a physical altercation in Newark, authorities said. At noon, police responded to a report of a fight aboard a NJ Transit bus at Broad Street and Lafayette Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The passenger spat on the driver after a verbal altercation, Fragé said. Both were charged with aggravated assault, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation, Fragé said.

An irate customer at a Dunkin' in Newark shattered a glass door on Saturday, May 25, authorities said. At 11:50 a.m., the man walked into Dunkin before getting angry, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The man knocked down an object before slamming a glass door, causing it to shatter, Fragé said. The man then fled northbound on Broad Street, Fragé said. He was wearing a blue T-shirt, blue shorts, and white sneakers, Fragé said. Anyone with information is asked to contact 1-87-695-8477.

The social media accounts of the 19-year-old Queens man who was arrested in Newark for his dangerous stunts show him taunting police across the tri-state area. A 19-year-old Queens man was arrested and charged after eluding Newark police for a social media video, authorities said. On Thursday, April 11 at 1:16 a.m., police were patrolling Broad Street and Market Street when they observed a black BMW that traveled around their vehicle at a high rate of speed with no license plates, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G.
