Wrong-Way DUI Driver Kills PA Man On Route 80: Police, Court Records
A 31-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed by a wrong-way intoxicated driver on Route 80 early Sunday, Feb. 2, authorities said. Victor Peters, 45, of Parsippany was heading east in the westbound lanes of Route 80 in a Mercedes SUV in Rockaway Township when he struck a Ford pickup truck driven by Destinn McKnight around 2:20 a.m., according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan. McKnight died while Peters was seriously injured, Marchan said. A wrong-way driver from New York was killed, and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday morning, Jan. 19, New Jersey State Police said. The 20-year-old Pompton Plains resident was the only person to escape a two-car crash caused by a wrong-way driver on the Garden State Parkway on Friday, July 5, with her life. Two people were killed and one person was injured in a wrong-way crash on the Garden State Parkway overnight in Paramus, authorities confirmed. Diana J. Cruz, 38, of Newark, was heading north in the southbound lanes of the Parkway when she struck a Toyota SUV head-on just before 2:30 a.m. at milepost 163.4 on Friday, July 5, New Jersey State Police Sgt.
