Trenton Man IDed As Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Hit, Run Vehicle: Morris County Prosecutor A 35-year-old Trenton resident was identified as the man struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in Parsippany Monday evening, Aug. 19, authorities said. Jelson Cabrera was struck on Route 46 West near Sandra Drive, a spokeswoman for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. The vehicle fled the scene, authorities said. Cabrera was transported to Morristown Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. Bicyclist, 35, Decapitated By Driver Who Ran Red Light In Elizabeth, Police Say A 35-year-old cyclist was decapitated after he was struck by a vehicle that ran a red light in Elizabeth on the late evening of Sunday, Aug. 11, authorities said. The cyclist was crossing North Avenue and Spring Street when a 20-year-old driver ran a red light and struck him, decapitating him, a spokeswoman for the city said.  The cyclist's identity is being withheld, pending next of kin notification, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing, authorities said. The driver remained on the scene, authorities said.

At 8:09 a.m.,, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 46 in White Township when it collided with a black bear that entered the lane of travel, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State police said. Trailer Hauling Three Vehicles Overturns On Route 23: Njsp A pickup truck hauling a trailer with three vehicles overturned on Route 23 in Sussex County on the afternoon of Monday, July 1, authorities said. At 3:45 p.m., the Ford F-450 pickup truck lost directional control, causing the trailer to overturn on Route 23 northbound in Wantage, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Debris from the crash struck another vehicle, Lebron said. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
