Three people died and two others were in critical condition when a car ran a right light and collided with a pickup truck overnight in Ocean County, authorities said. A 2009 Honda Accord carrying four people ran the light while heading eastbound at Cedar Bridge Avenue at New Hampshire Avenue around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Hackensack Police Officer Hospitalized After Crash
A Hackensack police officer was hospitalized Friday following a collision on his way to a call. Initial details were scant apart from word that the officer was headed to a report of a fight in the area of Atlantic and Main streets, with his emergency lights on, when his cruiser collided with a commercial van in front of the 7-Eleven at the corner of Essex and Newman streets before 9:30 a.m. Aug. 18. Tour Bus With 15 Occupants Rear-Ends Tractor-Trailer On Rt. 80: State Police
Fifteen occupants of a tour bus were unharmed after a Route 80 collision involving a tractor-trailer on Wednesday, August 2, state police said. The bus rear-ended the trailer on the eastbound side near milepost 8 in Knowlton around 6:45 a.m., SFC Philip Curry told Daily Voice. No major injuries were reported, Curry said. Additional details were not released.

VA Man ID'd As Victim Killed In I-78 Crash
A 22-year-old Virginia man was killed in a tractor-trailer crash on a Pennsylvania highway over the weekend, authorities said. Evan Dennison, of Berryville, was driving a vehicle that struck the back of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 78 in Weisenberg Township, on Sunday, July 23, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. Dennison was pronounced dead at the scene, at 2:53 p.m. All westbound lanes were closed for several hours. Pennsylvania State Police were investigating.

A New Jersey man was killed when a 14-year-old driver in a stolen car struck his vehicle head-on early Tuesday, March 28 in New York, authorities said. Pedestrian Killed In Jersey Shore Crosswalk Was Guyanese Swimmer
A 34-year-old swimmer visiting from Guyana — or the "Land of Many Waters" — was struck and killed by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Freehold Township, authorities said. Robert Taylor was struck by a southbound driver on Route 9 at Schibanoff Lane on Monday, Jan. 9 around 7 a.m., according to authorities and those who knew Taylor. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was a mentor with the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association. Tractor-Trailer Crash Temporarily Closes Route 17 Stretch
A noontime collision involving a tractor-trailer temporarily closed a stretch of Route 17 on Wednesday. One injury was reported, though it wasn't immediately clear how serious, following the Nov. 16 crash on the northbound highway in Rochelle Park.
