Former NJ Lifeguard, NC Police Officer Dies In Supermarket Shooting: 'He Was Amazing' A New Jersey native who was a police officer in North Carolina was shot and killed at a Greensboro supermarket just two days before Christmas, authorities said. Officer Michael Horan died in the shooting while responding to a report of an armed man at a Food Lion on Monday, Dec. 23, the Greensboro Police Department said in a news release. The Beach Haven native was 44 years old. Aldi Opening In Wayne Aldi Opening In Wayne
Aldi Opening In Wayne Grocery shoppers in Wayne will have another place to peruse the aisles. Aldi, a German supermarket chain, will be opening at the Plaza Square Shopping Center at 625 Hamburg Turnpike in the township, according to Regency Centers, which owns the shopping center.  The store will be 42,816 square feet, according to Regency Centers. An opening date has not been announced. Tenants at Plaza Square include a Wendy's and a T-Mobile. Aldi's has 61 locations in the Garden State, according to its website.

Popular Kosher Supermarket Opening In North Jersey Seasons Express is coming to Bergen County. The popular kosher supermarket is opening a location at 465-467 Cedar Lane in Teaneck, replacing a Wells Fargo. The new Seasons Express comes on the heels of the supermarket closing its location in Clifton, after the store unexpectedly lost its lease.  Currently, the only Seasons Express in New Jersey is in Lakewood. An opening date for the new Teaneck location has not been announced.

New ShopRite Opens In North Jersey Grocery shoppers have another supermarket to try in Bergen County. A ShopRite opened in Fair Lawn at 22-00 Maple Ave. in the Maple Avenue Plaza on Friday, June 16. The supermarket offers a bakery, a café, a meat department and a wellness department staffed with a dietician.  The 72,000-square foot ShopRite is run by Inserra Supermarkets, which operates 22 ShopRites and two Price Rite Marketplaces in North Jersey and Rockland County.  The store replaces the previous Shop Rite in Fair Lawn at River Road which closed on Thursday, June 15.
