Murder Verdict: Jury Convicts Killer ID’d By Pregnant Paterson Woman Before She Died
UPDATE: An ex-con whom a pregnant Paterson woman identified as her killer shortly before she died was convicted of murder following a jury trial.
Donqua “Quay” Thomas, 32, faces a minimum of 30 years in state prison without parole, with the possibility of a lifetime term, when he is sentenced on Sept. 22.
The woman he killed, Remy Lee, 31, was two weeks away from delivering their newborn son when Thomas shot her four times in broad daylight in a parking lot at the city’s Brooks-Sloate Terrace co-ops on Oct. 29, 2020, jurors in Paterson found.

A Passaic police officer seized a city man who authorities said was carrying a loaded handgun after an 18-year-old woman was shot during a large fight over the weekend.
Roger Palacios, 25, was taken into custody following the brawl, which involved weapons, off the corner of Bergen and Fourth streets shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday, June 18, they said.

Unconscious Teen Pulled From Greenwood Lake, Airlifted To Hospital
A young college student was airlifted to the hospital after he was seriously injured in Greenwood Lake over the weekend, authorities said.
West Milford police responding to the noon call found Yilin Choi, 18, of Bellevue, Washington, unconscious but breathing on the dock at Lake Park Terrace on Saturday, Detective Sgt. Matthew Kloo said.
Choi, who attends NYU, apparently was unfamiliar with the area. He dove into shallow water and didn’t resurface, according to Kloo.
West Milford police and EMS tended to Choi, who was taken by ambulance to Greenwood Lake Airport, the sergeant said.
