Two Men From Paterson, One From Elmwood Park Wounded In Silk City Shooting
A Labor Day weekend shooting in Paterson sent three men to the hospital. Police found two victims – one 28 from Elmwood Park and the other 33 from Paterson – while responding to a 2:40 a.m. call Sunday, Sept. 3, at Kearney Street and Union Avenue. Both were taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center with wounds that weren’t considered life-threatening. Another man, 29, from Paterson apparently was wounded by gunfire a block and change down on Kearney Street, responders said. Driver Seriously Injured In Route 208 Crash
A motorist was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when his sedan slammed head-on into a utility pole on Route 208. The airbags in his older-model Volkswagen Jetta deployed in the crash at Harristown Road off the northbound highway in Glen Rock shortly after 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31. Drop And Dash: Van Splits After Bringing Two Paterson Shooting Victims To Hospital
Two Paterson men wounded in a city shooting were dropped off at the hospital by a van that then took off, responders said. Police who responded to a report of gunfire reported finding a crime scene but no victims outside a multi-family home on 12th Avenue off East 23rd Street at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, authorities said. Bystanders In Fair Lawn Hold Down Driver Who Tried To Run From Head-On Crash
Bystanders grabbed a driver after he tried to run from a crash in Fair Lawn, authorities said. Carlton Wallace, 53, Pennsauken was headed east on Lincoln Avenue when his Chevy Impala struck a telephone pole and he veered into oncoming traffic, hitting another vehicle, late last week, Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Worker Falls Head-First From Roof Of Franklin Lakes School
A worker was hospitalized Thursday after he fell from the roof of a school in Franklin Lakes and landed on his head, authorities said. The 54-year-old West New York laborer with Safeway Contracting out of Union plunged 10 to 15 feet at the Franklin Avenue Middle School shortly after 2 p.m. July 27, Police Capt. Mark McCombs said. He was alert and conscious while being treated for a large cut on his head before being taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center in Paterson, the captain said. OSHA was notified and responded for further investigation, McCombs said.
