The Rite Aid pharmacy in Hackettstown is closing its doors. The Mountain Avenue location’s last day open will be Wednesday, August 30. Sussex County Police Officer Punched In Face By Fleeing Suspect
A Sussex County man previously jailed and evaluated for assaulting his father was arrested after punching a police officer in the face and attempting to flee, authorities said. Newton Police Department Special Officer Raul Couce was working as a crossing guard at the corner of Spring Street, Halsted Street, and Sparta Avenue when he was punched in the face by Louis B. Selimi, 23, shortly before 2:55 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, NPD said in a Monday release. Sussex County Board of Elections Administrator Marge McCabe has announced her retirement just nine days after more than 1,600 uncounted voter ballots from the primary election in July were discovered in a “mislabeled” storage bin. Police: Erratic Newton Driver Nabbed In Stolen Pickup
A Newton man pulled over for erratic driving was behind the wheel of a stolen pickup truck, authorities said. Newton Police responded to the area of Spring Street on a report of a maroon Chevrolet Silverado being driven erratically around 10:54 a.m. last Saturday, authorities said. Christopher Rayfield, 48, was failing to maintain a lane going northbound on Water Street when officers pulled him over, police said.
