Drunk Man Shot For Leaning On Car In Elizabeth: PD A very drunk man was shot outside of an Elizabeth parking lot because another man was upset he was leaning on his car, authorities said. The vehicle was parked in a lot near North Avenue on Spring Street, Elizabeth police spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right side of his ribcage around 2:50 a.m. Sunday, April 30, and was hospitalized in stable condition. Man Hospitalized In Elizabeth Shooting A man was hospitalized after a shooting in Elizabeth, authorities said. Elizabeth police responded to a report of gunfire on the 400 block of Spring Street just after 11 a.m. on Thursday, Information Officer Kelly Martins told Daily Voice. The victim was shot in the side and taken to University Hospital in Newark where he remained in stable condition, Martins said. No other details were immediately released. Update: Teen On Scooter Struck And Killed By Truck In Elizabeth A teen riding a scooter was hit by a truck in Elizabeth Wednesday night, according to witnesses and initial reports.  The 16-year-old was struck by a tow truck at Spring Street and Elizabeth Avenue around 8 p.m. and later died, officials said.
