A South Jersey police officer was in critical condition after a shootout that left him wounded and a suspect dead on Friday, March 10, according to authorities and those who knew the officer. More than $9,000 had been raised on a GoFundMe for Deptford Police Officer Bobby Shisler as of 11 p.m. The shootout occurred around 12:45 p.m. near Doman Avenue in Deptford, according to New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. A woman from South Jersey said a man followed her home from an ATM and robbed her at gunpoint, authorities said. Washington Township police released photos of a black Dodge Charger that the robbery suspect may have been driving. A 26-year-old victim said she finished work and stopped at the TD Bank in Glassboro to use the ATM before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Carbon Monoxide Kills Pair In South Jersey: Report
Two people in South Jersey were found dead of what authorities believe was carbon monoxide poisoning on Tuesday, Dec. 13, NJ Advance Media reports. The bodies were apparently found in a home on Monroe Street in Paulsboro. An official cause of death awaits completion of an investigation by the medical examiner’s office, the outlet said, quoting Tom Gilbert, chief of detectives with the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office. A 26-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested for strangling and stabbing a woman inside a South Jersey motel, authorities said. Alexander Rivera, of the 6300 block of Cardiff Street in the Mayfair section of the city, was taken into custody without incident at his home on Friday Nov. 4 by the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
