North Jersey residents are feeling the impact of this week's storm with thousands still without power and schools closed or delayed. Heavy rain on Friday, Sept. 29 closed major roadways across New Jersey. Gov. Phil Murphy declared a State of Emergency in the late afternoon, as rain continued falling, leaving drivers trapped in flood waters across the state. Dunderhook Road at Paramus Road in Paramus remained closed due to flooding, leading the borough's Office of Emergency Management to urge an evacuation of the area late Friday afternoon. Jackknifed Tractor-Trailer Leaking Diesel, Refrigerant Backs Up Route 287 In Morristown
A jackknifed tractor-trailer leaking fluids closed several lanes of Route 287 northbound in Morristown before dawn Thursday, state police said. The driver lost control of the trailer, which struck a bridge embankment and jackknifed near milepost 36.7 in Morristown shortly after 3 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice. The trailer was blocking several lanes and leaking diesel fuel and refrigerant following the crash, Curry said. Sussex County Motorcycle Crash Shuts Portion Of Route 206
A motorcycle accident closed a portion of Route 206 in Frankford Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes near mile marker 120, initial reports say.
