A 37-year-old mom faces child neglect and drug charges after she was found with hypodermic needles at the Warren County Quality Inn motel where her two young children were roaming the halls, police said. The Washington mom — whose name was not released — was arrested on a warrant on Nov. 30 after a Sept. 1 welfare check found her children wandering the halls of Quality Inn in Hackettstown looking for her, township police said in a Monday release. A woman was charged after she allegedly caused a Warren County hotel to flood, forcing the business to close for nearly two months and counting. Police and fire crews responding to the Quality Inn in Hackettstown found heavy flooding from the activated sprinkler system shortly before 2:55 a.m. on Sept. 7, Mansfield Township police said in a Wednesday release. Authorities traced the activation to room 108, where they found that a 21-year-old woman had tampered with the sprinkler head and caused the flooding, police said. Two toddlers were found living in “horrible conditions” in a Warren County hotel with their parents, who were allegedly using a slew of hard drugs in their presence with at least eight other adults, authorities said. A Lyndhurst police detective seized a stolen gun and drugs after seeing a deal go down outside a local motel, authorities said. Detective Nick Abruscato was doing a routine commercial property check around 9 p.m. Monday when he saw the sale happen in the parking lot of the Quality Inn on Polito Avenue, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. He recognized Aldred Negron, 40, of Newark from previous incidents, then stopped his Cadillac STX after Negron drove off. Lyndhurst PD: Raging Drunk Driver Subdued After Brawl With Police
A drunk driver had to be subdued after he fought with Lyndhurst police while threatening to kill them and himself, authorities said. Sgt. Paul Haggerty ran a check on an occupied a Jeep parked at the far end of the Quality Inn lot on Polito Avenue late Monday and discovered that its registration was expired and the owner’s driver’s license was suspended.
