Hundreds Without Power In NJ Ahead Of Powerful Storm
Hundreds of New Jersey residents were without power on Wednesday morning, Dec. 11, JCPL reports. According to the company's outage map, 241 customers were in the dark in Washington Township as gusty winds began to sweep through the region. In Morris Township, 74 customers were in the dark, and 18 had no power in Morristown. The outage map showed 248 customers were without power in Long Valley and Tewksbury as well. Meanwhile, in Woodbridge (Middlesex County), 552 PSE&G customers did not have power as of 9:20 a.m.

$7.5M In Back Wages Paid To 865 Utility Workers Who Restored Power In NJ After Tropical Storm
The 865 utility workers who restored outages in New Jersey following Tropical Storm Isaias in August 2020 will be getting $7.5 million in back wages, state officials said. NJDOL Division of Wage and Hour Compliance investigators found that workers deployed by Pike Electric Inc. of Mount Airy, N.C., were paid less than the rate required by the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act during the recovery efforts. A pole is down on Route 12 in Hunterdon County on Friday, Aug. 9, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. The downed pole and wires are down on Route 12 in both directions in Flemington at Reaville Avenue and Main Street, NJDOT said. One right lane is closed, NJDOT said. A storm system that swept through the region Saturday afternoon, Aug. 3 left hundreds of North Jersey residents without power. As of 5:40 p.m., about 950 PSE&G customers in Hackensack did not have power, its website shows. In Closter, 145 Orange & Rockland customers were in the dark. In West Milford, more than 500 residents did not have power. Most of those customers were JCP&L. The storms, which brought temps down to the high-70s, had subsided as of press time.

Driver Seized After Sunday Morning Crash Splits Utility Pole In Ridgewood
A driver was taken after custody following a Sunday morning crash that snapped a utility pole in Ridgewood, causing scattered power and communications outages in the area. The uninjured driver was brought to Glen Rock police headquarters for a blood-alcohol test and then to village headquarters after the Acura RLX slammed into the pole on North Van Dien Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m. March 3. Thousands of residents in northern New Jersey were without power as of Tuesday, Feb. 13 amid the snow storm that dropped several inches on the region. The JCP&L outage map shows 2,390 had no power in Warren County, mainly in Harmony Twp., Lopatcong, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, and White Township as of 11:35 a.m. In Somerset County, nearly 900 residents had no power, mostly in Branchburg (790). Car Crash Knocks Down Power Lines: Chatham PD
A car crash caused a power outage in Chatham on Friday, Feb. 2,authorities said. Main Street was closed between Fairmount Avenue and Lafayette Avenue after wires went down following the crash, the Chatham Borough Police Department said on Facebook. Power remains out but is expected to be restored within the hour, police said. Police are asking residents avoid the area while they replace the pole, officers said.
