'Edgewater Needed Something A Little Different': New Tapas Restaurant Opens
Oggi Domani, a Hoboken native, has become quite the North Jersey restauranteur. Domani, who owns three other restaurants in the area, recently opened Bonita by the River, a restaurant specializing in Spanish European cuisine and tapas at 190 River Road in Edgewater. "Edgewater needed something a little different," Domani said. "There aren't many tapas places in the area." Patrons have been enjoying the rooftop bar and the 20 different types of tapas Bonita serves, including pastelillos, spicy filet mignon tips and baked oysters champagne. A driver was hospitalized after hitting a tree that had fallen into a Hunterdon County roadway due to the heavy winds and thunderstorms that rattled the area overnight on Tuesday, June 27, responders said. Thousands of residents across North Jersey were without power as thunderstorms swept through the area overnight on Tuesday, June 27. According to JCP&L, just over 1,200 Morris County residents and more than 2,000 in Somerset County were without power as of Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, nearly 1,700 in Hunterdon and about 1,000 in Warren Counties had yet to regain electricity. New ShopRite Opens In North Jersey
Grocery shoppers have another supermarket to try in Bergen County. A ShopRite opened in Fair Lawn at 22-00 Maple Ave. in the Maple Avenue Plaza on Friday, June 16. The supermarket offers a bakery, a café, a meat department and a wellness department staffed with a dietician. The 72,000-square foot ShopRite is run by Inserra Supermarkets, which operates 22 ShopRites and two Price Rite Marketplaces in North Jersey and Rockland County. The store replaces the previous Shop Rite in Fair Lawn at River Road which closed on Thursday, June 15.
