Newton Woman Gets Three Years For Dealing LSD: Sussex County Prosecutor
A 31-year-old Newton woman was sentenced to three years in prison on Friday, Dec. 13 for distributing LSD, authorities said. Dana Vail had previously pled guilty to the charges after being arrested in January following an investigation, the New Jersey State Police Strategic Investigations Unit, Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray, said. Undercover detectives conducted two controlled purchases of approximately 10,000 milligrams of LSD from Vail and during a subsequent search of her residence, police found additional quantities of LSD, Murray said.

Three people were arrested after a man was assaulted by a firearm during a drug deal in Whippany on Saturday, Oct. 12, authorities said. Emily Madden, a nurse and Clifton resident, died on Sunday, July 21, according to her obituary on the Ferguson Funeral Home website. She was 27 years old. Edmund Zukowski, a longtime firefighter in Newton and former fire chief died on Thursday, May 23 at the age of 80, surrounded by his family, according to his obituary. Eleven people were displaced by a massive fire Easter weekend in Sussex County, officials said. Multiple fire companies responded to 39 Halsted St. in Newton around 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 30 for a house fire with possible entrapment, responders said. Two suspects remain at large after they brandished a boxcutter while taking merchandise from a Sephora in Morris Plains on Sunday, Jan. 28, authorities said. In a dispute between a contractor and a subcontractor in Sussex County, the garage door was the real victim. A 46-year-old Newton subcontractor was arrested after he uninstalled garage doors following an argument with a contractor on Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Byram Township, police said. Officers responded to a report of stolen garage doors at a residence on Ranger Trail when they discovered Vincent Sciroppo, the subcontractor had absconded with the garage doors following the tiff, police said. A DWI motorcyclist was cited after a crash with a deer on Friday, Oct. 13 in Sussex County, authorities said. Adam C.
