It was a happy ending for a parrot that got loose in Morris County on Saturday, July 20. The Morris County Sheriff's Office responded to Hedden Park for a report of a loose parrot near the Concord Avenue parking lot, authorities said. When police arrived, they saw patrons holding a large stick with a parrot perched on top, the Morris County Sherriff's Office said. Authorities in Morris County are investigating the death of a 6-month-old infant on Wednesday, July 17. Police were called to a parking lot near South Ridgedale Avenue at Route 10 in East Hanover around 1:30 p.m. where they found the baby girl in a parked vehicle, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said. Paramedics attempted to render lifesaving aid and the baby was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. A 32-year-old Nashville man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child in Morris County, authorities said. Rony Oviedo-Buezo performed multiple sexual acts with a female child, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Town of Dover Police Chief Jonathan Delaney said. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle outside a 7-Eleven in Morris County on the morning of Thursday, July 18, authorities said. At 6:33 a.m., the pedestrian was struck outside the store at 294 Route 206 in Flanders, an unincorporated community in Mount Olive, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said. A 79-year-old East Hanover resident was sentenced to 15 years in jail on Friday, July 12 after pleading guilty to shooting his wife in the head in 2020, authorities said. A crash with injuries was jamming up traffic on Interstate 80 in Morris County, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 3:40 p.m. on Friday, July 12, according to the NJDOT. 8-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Car While Riding Bicycle In Morris County, Police Say
An 8-year-old riding his bicycle was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Parsippany on Tuesday, July 9, authorities said. At 5:34 p.m., the 8-year-old was struck by a 2022 Mazda CX5 traveling in the area of 189 Littleton Road, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Parsippany –Troy Hills Police Chief Richard Pantina said. A Rockaway resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash in Morris County on the early morning of Tuesday, July 2, authorities said. At 3:32 a.m., officers responded to Franklin Road and Franklin Avenue on a report of a crash, Denville police said in a release.
