Three Arrested After Drug Deal Gone Bad: Hanover Township PD
Three people were arrested after a man was assaulted by a firearm during a drug deal in Whippany on Saturday, Oct. 12, authorities said.
Officers initially responded to a report of a gunshot wound at the Red Carpet/Scottish Inn 1255 Route 10 East, Hanover Township police said. It was determined the victim was not shot, but struck in the head with a handgun and robbed, police said.
Following an investigation, three people were arrested, police said.

Man Gave Fake Name, Had Drugs, Outstanding Warrants During Denville Traffic Stop: Police
A 31-year-old Lake Hopatcong resident was arrested and charged on Wednesday, Sept. 11, with possessing drugs and giving police a fake name during a traffic stop in Denville, authorities said.
At 11:15 a.m., officers pulled over a vehicle on Route 53 South for multiple equipment violations, Denville police said in a release. During the stop, officers discovered the driver of the vehicle, Edwin Wendlocher, possessed a controlled dangerous substance, drug paraphernalia and Wendocher gave the officer a false name, police said.

Two men are facing charges after police say they robbed a woman they'd hired for sex using a fake gun and a knife in Sparta.
The victim told police in Sparta that the men, later identified as Jeremy Barcoski, 47 of Sparta, NJ and Zarko Tamburin, 46 of Morristown, were drunk and doing drugs when she arrived at the Main Street apartment on Jan. 29, according to Sparta police.

A Morris County son is accused of killing his dad on Sunday, Dec. 24, authorities said.
Kyle Meyer, 33, is believed to have killed his dad, 61-year-old Gregory Meyer, was found dead in the home the two shared around 1:15 p.m. on Old Denville Road in Boonton Township, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said.
Kyle was found in Paterson around 9 p.m., Carroll said alongside Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, and Boonton Township Police Chief Thomas Cacciabeve.

Four people were arrested and one is still at large after crashing a stolen BMW on Route 287 and fleeing from police, prompting a search that lasted several hours, authorities said.
Police in Lincoln Township attempted to stop a stolen black BMW 750 on Route 202 around 9:20 a.m. Sunday, July 9.
The vehicle then entered Rt. 287 northbound and became disabled as five occupants ran from the scene.

A Middlesex County man was intoxicated when he committed back-to-back assaults and made terroristic threats at a Morris County gas station, police said.
Michael Nilsen, 43, was seen banging on car windows at QuickChek on South Jefferson Road in Hanover on August 25, Police Chief Mark Roddy said in a release.
Nilsen, of Colonia, was found to be intoxicated, police said.
A follow-up investigation led to his arrest with charges for two counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, hindering, criminal mischief, obstruction and disorderly conduct, police said.

Two East Orange men attempting to steal a BMW in Morris County early Saturday morning were caught in the act, police said.
Miles Cotton, 18, and Talazhue E. Bennett, 20, were seen by a resident on Brittany Road in Montville attempting to steal a 2018 BMW around 3:10 a.m. Saturday, township police Chief Andrew Caggiano said.
