Lodi Firefighter Gets Life-Saving Kidney From Fellow Responder's Fiancée
Volunteer Lodi Firefighter Anthony Maiolo has spent half his life saving others. So when it came time to rescue the former chief, Nancy Scaramuzzo didn't think twice. Moonachie Resident, 69, Hospitalized With Burns After Mobile Home Mishap
A Moonachie resident on home oxygen was hospitalized with severe flash burns on her face and hair following a mishap at her mobile home. The 69-year-old victim was taken by the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad to Hackensack University Medical Center from the Vanguard mobile homes off Moonachie Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 17, Police Lt. Jeff Napolitano said. There was no fire, indicating a likely quick flash, the lieutenant said.

Members of a protest group angered over climate-changing CO2 and other emissions from private jets glued themselves to huge self-made teepees at Teterboro Airport, disrupting area air and land traffic. Two climbed a teepee and refused to come down at the entrance to Jet Aviation on Charles Lindbergh Drive. Others glued their hands to the makeshift structures. Flames rolled across the ceiling and smoke filled the home as Hasbrouck Heights Police Officer Christopher Connors dashed upstairs and carried a 65-year-old woman in a wheelchair to safety on Monday. Two Hospitalized In Route 17 Crash
Two people were hospitalized after an overnight crash on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights. The extent of their injuries couldn't immediately be determined following the collision on the northbound side outside the Shell station at Malcolm Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Members of the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad and the Wallington Emergency Squad responded along with Hasbrouck Heights police and firefighters. Arrangements For Late Tow Truck-Driving Bergen First Responder Include Procession
A tow truck procession escorted by police will honor a driver who was killed while responding to a call on Route 3. The procession for Robert Thornton, 31, an EMS volunteer from Ridgefield Park, will begin at 3:45 p.m. Friday, March 4, on southbound Veterans Boulevard.
