Beloved Montclair State University graduate and North Jersey bagel shop manager Hamza Muheisen died unexpectedly at the age of 26. Muheisen lived in Washington and earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Montclair State University in 2018, his LinkedIn page says. Muheisen was the manager of Muheisen Bagel & Deli, where he had become well-known for his smiling and friendly demeanor each and every day. Stray Bullet Kills Paterson Teen Carrying In His Grandmother's Groceries
UPDATE: A college-bound Paterson teen was carrying in his grandmother's groceries when he was struck and killed by a stray bullet outside the family's home, loved ones said. Robert Cuadra, 18, was hit when someone fired no fewer than 16 rounds on Godwin Avenue between Carroll Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Niche has released its 2022 rankings of the best colleges in New Jersey. Princeton University was ranked first among the top 10 in the state. The calculations were based on "an analysis of academic, admissions, financial, and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education along with millions of reviews from students and alumni." Police: Driver, 21, Leads Wild North Jersey Pursuit After Officers Interrupt 20-Car Drag Race
A 21-year-old driver lead police on a wild pursuit across North Jersey after police interrupted what appeared to be a 20-car race on Route 80, authorities said. Police responded to at the Route 80 entrance ramp on New Maple Avenue in Montville, where nearly 20 luxury vehicles were arriving, apparently getting ready to race around 12:15 a.m. Jan. 3, Fairfield Police Chief Anthony Manna said. Man Struck, Killed By Hoboken Bound Train In Newark
A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train in Newark Tuesday morning, authorities said. Service to the Morris and Essex line was operating on a 30-minute delay in both directions after the 7:45 a.m. incident west of the Broad Street Station, NJT spokeswoman Lisa Torbic said. The train left Montclair State University at 7:10 a.m., and was scheduled to arrive in Hoboken at 8 a.m., Torbic said. New Jersey Transit Police and EMS were on scene. None of the approximately 20 passengers and crew were on board were injured. The NJTPD is leading the investigation.

Anna Semioli fought for 4½ years while loved ones prayed for a miracle after she was struck by a pickup truck on Route 46 in Clifton. Annie's fight ended this weekend. Three Montclair State University employees have returned positive COVID-19 tests, officials said. Although classes have moved to online only, campuses remain open. The school is the third statewide to discover traces of the virus on its campus, NJ.com reports. The first case was announced March 12 -- the other two were reported Wednesday night. Yellowstone National Park Police Officer Donna Youker Of Morris County Dies, 37
Morris County native Donna Youker was a police officer in Yellowstone National Park, where she died on Feb. 4. She was 37 years old. Donna grew up in Randolph and graduated from the local high school before pursuing her Bachelor's of Science in Biology at Montclair State University, her obituary says. She moved out west nearly a decade ago to work out several national parks, most recently landing her dream job as a law enforcement officer in Yellowstone National Park, according to her obituary.
