A knife-wielding man threatening restaurant workers in Newark is being sought by police. Police responded to Sagres Bar & Grill, at 44-50 Prospect Street, on a call of a male with a knife threatening workers around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20, Newark Public Safety Fritz G. Fragé said. The male entered the restaurant and went behind the bar. When confronted by a worker, he pointed a knife he took from behind the bar at the worker. An off-duty New Jersey State Trooper subdued a man with a knife during an altercation in the parking lot of a Dunkin Donuts last month. Det. Sgt. Michael Nelson overheard two men arguing behind his car in the parking lot of a Dunkin Donuts in Freehold, and noticed one of them brandish a large knife and threaten the other man on May 28, authorities said. PD: ‘Intoxicated, Belligerent’ Sussex County Man Threatened Neighbor With Knife During Dispute
A Sussex County man was intoxicated when he belligerently threatened a neighbor with a knife during a dispute, authorities said. Juan Zanatta, 54, used a knife to threaten a neighbor in Franklin during a dispute on Feb. 2, borough police said. Zanatta, who police say was “intoxicated and belligerent” during the altercation, was arrested and charged with terroristic threats, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and disorderly conduct. He was released in accordance with the state’s bail reform laws and is scheduled to appear in Sussex County Superior Court.
