Kearny Man, 44, Stabbed Passenger In His Vehicle In Clifton, Police Say
A 44-year-old Kearny man is facing charges for stabbing a 31-year-old Paterson victim in Clifton, police said.
Daniel Carbajal-Flores was operating a 2018 Honda when he stabbed the victim, a passenger in the vehicle, at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Russell Street just after 1 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, Clifton Police Lt. Robert Anderson said.
The victim was assisted to safety away from the vehicle by another passenger in Carbajal-Flores' car, and taken to St. Joseph's hospital in a separate vehicle, Anderson said.

Acupuncturist ID'd As Pedestrian Killed Walking On Route 23: Prosecutor
Karin Johnson, a 75-year-old Cedar Grove resident, was killed on Tuesday, July 9, after being struck by a vehicle walking on Route 23, authorities said.
Born in Kearny, Johnson was raised in Cedar Grove, graduating from Cedar Grove High School in 1967, according to her obituary on the Shooks Cedar Grove Funeral Home website. Johnson, who worked as an acupuncturist, enjoyed being in nature and bringing people together, her obituary reads.

A Korean BBQ spot with dozens of locations across the U.S. is adding a second Bergen County location.
KPOT Korean BBQ & Hotpot, is set to open in Lodi, according to its website. The restaurant already has locations in Englewood, Kearny, Jersey City, and Union.

MSU Student Breanna Pifano, 20, Dies Weeks After Suffering Cardiac Event
Breanna Pifano, a 20-year-old student at Montclair State University, died on Monday, Sept. 18, after suffering a cardiac event earlier this month, according to her obituary.
Breanna was born on Dec. 18, 2002 and was in her third year at MSU studying biology, with aspirations of becoming an optometrist.
A fundraiser was set up to assist the family with medical and funeral expenses. As of Friday, Sept. 22, more than $40,590 has been raised.
