Missing NJ Boater Reunited With Family After Week Adrift
A boater out of Jersey City was reunited with his family last week after he went missing sailing to Bermuda, the Coast Guard said.
No one had heard from the mariner since Monday, Nov. 6, and the Coast Guard Atlantic Area command center began a search and rescue effort, the Coast Guard said.
Another ship, the Time Bandit, heard an alert, and on Wednesday, Nov. 15, found a vessel that matched the description of the missing boat, the Coast Guard said.

A drug raid spanning several New Jersey towns turned up a stash of drugs — including heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine — with a street value of more than $15 million, and netted multiple arrests, police said.
Acting on court-ordered search warrants, the raids were conducted Thursday, Nov. 16 following a months-long investigation in Hoboken, Jersey City, Elizabeth, and Montclair, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Dad Killed Biking To 2nd Job In Jersey City: Family
Guillermo Acevedo was biking to his second job in Jersey City when he was fatally struck by a vehicle on Saturday, Nov. 4, those who knew him said.
At 4 p.m., Jersey City police responded to Marin Boulevard and 16th Street where a 2018 Hyundai Elantra collided with Acevedo, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.
The driver attempted to turn left at the intersection when the crash occurred, Wallace-Scalfione said. The driver remained on the scene and called 911, she said.

KPOT Korean BBQ & Hotpot, is set to open in Lodi, according to its website. The restaurant already has locations in Englewood, Kearny, Jersey City, and Union.

'Charged Lemonade' From Panera Led To Death Of UPenn Student From Jersey City: Lawsuit
More than a year after a UPenn student from New Jersey died, her family has filed a wrongful death suit against Panera.
Sarah Katz, of Jersey City, died at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center on Sept. 10, 2022, according to her obituary.
The 21-year-old's death came shortly after she drank "Charged Lemonade" at the Panera located at 200 South 40th Street, in Philadelphia, according to the lawsuit filed on Monday, Oct. 23, by Kline & Specter, P.C. on behalf of Jill and Michael Katz.
