Guillermo Acevedo was biking to his second job in Jersey City when he was fatally struck by a vehicle on Saturday, Nov. 4, those who knew him said. At 4 p.m., Jersey City police responded to Marin Boulevard and 16th Street where a 2018 Hyundai Elantra collided with Acevedo, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. Two 17-year-olds who carjacked an Englewood resident at gunpoint overnight Wednesday were captured in Paterson a short time later by city police and New Jersey State Police troopers. UPDATE: A driver who crashed a stolen car at a popular hot dog stand on Route 46 in Lodi on Wednesday drove a couple blocks further before getting into another car, police said.
