Guerriero Gelato Shutters Flagship North Jersey Location
Guerriero Gelato is continuing to downsize. A month after announcing the closure of its location in Morristown, the gelateria announced it will be closing its Montclair location in October after 10 years. "This is very emotional for us," the company wrote on social media. "This was the first shop we built out ourselves. We made friendships that will last a lifetime." The eatery said while the Montclair store remains popular, they cannot keep up with rising taxes, rent, cost of living, labor and food. "We hope that we can all make progress against the ridiculous cost of living a…

"Morristown, we had fun, we shared laughs, and memories," the store wrote on Instagram. Guerriero also recently purchased Glen Rock-based Marc's Cheesecakes, which last week announced it would be closing in January after …

'We Have Finally Been Knocked Down': North Jersey Gelato Shop Closes... For Now
A popular North Jersey gelato shop is closing due to COVID-19. Guerriero Gelato in Montclair made the announcement Jan. 3 on Facebook. “We survived two years of COVID, power outages, flooding, Ida, and we kept getting up,” Guerriero Gelato said. “We finally have been knocked down." The shop is owned by award-winning Gelato master Mike Guerriero, who rebranded the "Gelati by Mike" franchise in 2019. “December was pure chaos, pulling the plug on Christmas with record orders for the holiday really hurt," the shop said. "The second one person tests negative, two more are back in quaran…
